Ibrahim AbubakarSadeeq is the current President of the National Cooperative Financing Agency of Nigeria(CFAN). He has about 3 decades of experience in the Nigerian Co-operative Enterprise having been a Registrar of Co-operatives in Bauchi State and later the Education and Training Manager in the Bauchi State Co-operative Financing Agency (CFA) in 2009. Since 2011 to date, Ibrahim AbubakarSadeeq has been the GM/CEO of Bauchi State CFA, a conglomerate of interest in banking, hospitality, real estate, rice milling, produce marketing, etc.

 

As the GM/CEO of Bauchi State CFA, Ibrahim AbubakarSadeeq is responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the agency, planning, and implementation of the Agency’s strategic plan, liaising with Government and Regulatory Agencies and ensure the Financial and Compliance reporting of the Agency. Within 7 years of his administration, turnover of the agency rose to over NGN 700m while net profit per annum increased to NGN 100m. The asset base of the agency also increased to NGN 800m as of December 31, 2017. He also serves as the Secretary to the CFA’s Board of Directors.

 

He is an alumnus of the University of Jos, Jos and Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna. He has attended several workshops, seminars, training, and conferences in Nigeria and abroad on rural finance, banking, management, etc.

 

Emmanuel Atama (JP)
Executive Secretary/CEO
Mr. Atama Emmanuel is the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, National Co-operative Financing Agency of Nigeria (CFAN), the Apex Body for all financial co-operatives in Nigeria.

He had his basic cooperative training from the University of Ibadan through various short courses while serving as the Administrator of NITEL Staff Co-operative Society Limited at the NITEL Corporate Headquarters Abuja. He is widely traveled and researched into cooperative country’s best practices one of which is his study tour of the State of Israel Cooperatives in the year 2015. He has also served in various local and international committees including the Chairman Visa and Medical Committee for the International Co-operative Alliance Regional Assembly for Africa held in Abuja-Nigeria in the year 2008.

Mr. Atama has a rich pedigree in cooperative development and mentorship with a passion for housing cooperative financing of which he founded Shelter Pact Co-operative Society, Common Homes Co-operative Society, and recently, the Home Finders Co-operative Society. He is a consultant to several cooperative societies Management and Projects and has various housing projects to his credit. He is currently leading in cooperative society mobilization for mass housing finance under the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria and Shelter Afrique affordable housing program as the initiator and founder of the Abuja Cooperative Housing Summit through the pioneering efforts of his private enterprise, Path-Simon Investment Limited.

Mr. Atama is currently serving in addition to his official portfolio at CFAN as Chairman Product Working Group Committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria Financial Inclusion Strategy with the target of achieving 80% financial inclusion for the adult Nigerian population by the year 2020 while providing access to credit, savings, insurance, and pension. He is the President of the Abuja Cooperative Federation and Cluster Manager of Super Agents Propoor Agent Management Network under the Bank of Industry Loan on the Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP) in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja – Nigeria. Mr. Atama has also served as the Secretary of the World Bank Industrial Cluster Group (ICG) on Affordable Housing for the Federal Capital Territory Abuja-Nigeria. Mr. Atama is the initiator and founder of the Coopwatch Magazine which has come to fill in the gaps on cooperative information dissemination, research, and knowledge sharing.

He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration& Management and an Advanced Diploma in Public Administration (ADPA)all at upper credit levels respectively from the Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo, Benue State-Nigeria and an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered).  He is a devoted member of the Catholic faith, a Jerusalem Pilgrim (JP); happily married with children.

 

Anaba Sarah Nwanjuobi (JP)

Chief (Mrs.) Sarah Nwanjuobi Anaba retired meritoriously from the service of the Central Bank of Nigeria as Head, Development Finance Office, Umuohia, Abia State after attaining the mandatory 30 years of service where she successfully facilitated the disbursement and recovery of funds to beneficiaries of the micro, small and medium enterprises fund under the agricultural co-operatives platform, powered by CBN.

A seasoned expert and consultant in diverse areas in the financial sector as a result of advanced knowledge acquired and developed over the years in the development finance office of CBN.

Vast Knowledge in the development of organizational frameworks and structure, problem-solving, and strong management skills.

Result-driven, service-focused team player and leader with high interpersonal communication skills, visionary planning, and administration abilities.

Mustapha Mohammed Zakari

He is currently the Vice President II of the National Cooperative Financing Agency of Nigeria (CFAN) and also the President of a financial inclusion entity, Fund Trust Multipurpose Co-operative Society Limited registered in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory an affiliated to Fund Trust Multipurpose Co-operative Society registered and operating with 10 branches in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Mustapha M. Zakari is an alumnus of Business School, Netherlands, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Arthur Andersen (now KPMG Professionals and Accenture) and also a Fellow of the Institute for Health Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria. He is an accomplished professional with about 3 decades of diverse experience in professional accounting and audit, banking, financial and management consultancy, and business entrepreneurship.

Mustapha M. Zakari is also the Managing Director/CEO of Healthstone HMO Limited (a Health Insurance marketing company) with the responsibility of guiding the overall vision, strategy, and operation of the entity.

JagabaShuaibuTamu is a Board member and the Treasurer of the National Cooperative Financing Agency of Nigeria (CFAN). He has about 3 decades of experience in the Nigerian Co-operative Enterprise and is currently the President, Civil Servants Co-operative Union of Niger State. Mercy Ikeji

Mrs. Mercy Ikeji is the current public relations officer of the National Cooperative Financing Agency of Nigeria (CFAN)

Mercy is an Accountant and an Accredited Business Development Consultant, also working with the Bank of Industry Nigeria as one of their Business Development Consultant.
she is a Serial Entrepreneur, the MD/CEO of Dezionite Group of Companies and the Managing Director of Prime Synergy Global Solutions Limited.  Mercy is also the founder of Dezionite Helping Hands Development Initiative, an NGO with the vision of Enterprise Development and capacity building in Africa.

Mercy Holds a B.Sc. In Accounting and masters in Business Administration with vast experience in cooperative management and leadership, she is presently the serving president of Dezionite cooperative investment and credit society limited, a financial cooperative offering micro credit to the financially excluded individuals in the south-south region of Nigeria

 

Muhammad Zakari
Board Member
Muhammad Zakari is a Board member and the Financial Secretary of the National Cooperative Financing Agency of Nigeria (CFAN). He is also President of a financial inclusion entity Golden Age Cooperative Society Limited registered in Lagos and Abuja. With over 2000 enrolled members, we have disbursed over N400million in low-interest loans to ordinary Nigerians most of whom are bottom of pyramid Nigerians who never get the attention of the mainstream banks.

He has over 25 years of experience in the Financial Services industry out of which 10 years were at the top management level. He has spent 10 years with SOFGEN AFRICA Kenya, as a consultant and Project Director System Solution and Transformation architect for commercial & Central Banks across Africa and an ME. Expert in Islamic Core Banking solution and Financialnclusion and poverty alleviation strategy.

He has over the last 10 years delivered Transformation and business process solutions to leading Commercial and Central banks in East & Southern Africa, these include Reserve bank of Zimbabwe, Central Bank of Rwanda (BNR), Kenya Commercial Bank (the largest bank in East Africa), Commercial Bank of Africa, Kenya, Akiba Commercial Bank, Tanzania, Commercial bank of Ethiopia, Steward Bank Zimbabwe, CAL Bank, Ghana, Banco Postal, Angola, CPC Poupanca, Mozambique.

He comes with over 30 years’ plus experience in commercial banking (1981-2019) with 12 years at senior management level in IT, financial control, branch operations, and customer service support.
